My Role
I worked as Project Manager and Product Manager Assistant alongside the lead Product Manager at Gruppo Class. My position required balancing coordination across teams while ensuring that editorial, business, and technical needs were aligned throughout the project.
Context and Goals
Italia Oggi, a leading Italian business and legal newspaper, needed to modernize its digital platform. Surveys revealed that readers valued content quality but found usability, accessibility, and subscription options lacking. The goal was twofold: enhance the reading experience for professionals and increase engagement and subscription conversion through new digital features and improved design.
Responsibilities
My responsibilities spanned several key areas:
- Coordination of cross-functional teams including design, development, and editorial staff.
- Requirements gathering from stakeholders, informed by survey insights on user needs and pain points.
- Design leadership support, ensuring that wireframes and functional documents reflected real user workflows.
- Stakeholder communication, bridging conversations between business leadership, designers, and developers.
- Testing oversight, monitoring implementation of features like login, registration, and content personalization.
Key Features Delivered
- A redesigned article template system with variants (commentary, technical, in-depth, ranking) to match different editorial formats.
- Introduction of AI-assisted content summaries (“In sintesi” and “Cosa sappiamo ad oggi”) to make articles more time-efficient for readers.
- A new subscription and registration flow, including MyIO (personal area), streamlined login, and newsletter management.
- Search and archive improvements with both standard and advanced filters, plus inline integration with legal documentation (XLigo).
- Enhanced call-to-action strategy within articles, improving visibility of related products, events, and downloadable resources
